I Want a Pump and I Want It Now, Part 2

Type 2 Diabetes Blog

Ok Ladies...The last time I left you on this topic, I left you with questions and myself with lots of frustration.

I was turned down for my request for a pump two blogs ago. Now mind you this was my general practitioners office and not an endo. So I understand she may not be versed in diabetes, but to turn me down and not tell me to ask my endo or let me see your log book or get another A1c or lets discuss this rationally first, was upsetting. She was rude when she told me that I didn't take care of myself and extremely belittling.

Normally I try to work things out with the person that I am having conflict with. Not this time. This is a Christian doctors' office and her approach to everything within our twenty minute appointment was less than Christian like. She apparently was having a bad day and I was on defense. Not that she needs to be sweet all the time, but this was only the second time I had seen her. If she checked my chart she would see that although I had a couple months of bad numbers and bad management that certainly was not the norm for me. Who was she to judge me when she wasn't really educated on my history nor walking my walk? It was enough for me to run to the bakery and grab a cannoli.

In Denial

Type 2 Diabetes Blog

Well, it feels great to be here. This is my first blog for DS and I am very excited to share my thoughts, feelings, ideas, trials, tribulations and temptations.  My goal here is to get us all talking, sharing and helping each other with our day to day wins and losses due to diabetes.

Me and my V-GO

Type 2 Diabetes Blog

As I go through my daily struggles with diabetes I have learned ever so much.  One of the rules that I live my life by is that knowledge is power.  So here is some of what I have learned.  Having diabetes, while it is not easy I think it has made me a stronger person.  I have become an advocate with the American Diabetes Association, and have learned the importance of being an advocate for myself as well.  One thing I know for sure is the importance of a good endocrinolgist.  They really need to listen.  Mine has introduced me to the V-Go.

Apology & New Orleans Was Great

Type 2 Diabetes Blog

Please accept my apology for not posting on-time this week.  I was so tired from my travels over the weekend that I completely forgot.  We were so busy with family and friends, old and new, that I didn’t even write during my down time while away.  That taught me to never go away without having written my submission and to have it ready for posting as soon as I am able on Sunday.

Does Fear Stop You?

Type 2 Diabetes Blog

Well, there have been no surprises or anything new this week.  The appointments that I have set-up are for the second week of November.  So, I have no new results to share with you all.  Right now, I am just trying to keep my glucose stable.

Help Me With My Stress

Type 2 Diabetes Blog

This was another very hectic week that I happily said farewell to.  We were very short-handed at the office this week.  Four employees were out sick, on vacation, or had unexpected family issues to tend to.  That means my workload increased by three extra tasks.
