About the Speakers
Victoria Bouhairie, MD, DipABLM
Dr. Bouhairie is board-certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism, as well as in
Lifestyle Medicine. She is the founder and CEO of Parry’s Wellness and Diabetes Center in
Charlotte, NC. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Bouhairie is highly engaged in
community initiatives focused on healthcare improvement and population health. She serves
on several committees, including the American Diabetes Association’s Health Disparities and
Wellness and Nutrition Committees, and has acted as a clinical advisor for the “Difference in
Diabetes” DSMES program at Humana’s CenterWell Home Health. Furthermore, Dr.
Bouhairie is a dedicated board member of Diabetessisters.
Chelsea Lugone, MSN, FNP-BC, CDCES
Manager, Clinical Education, Dexcom
Chelsea Lugone is a Family Nurse Practitioner and Certified Diabetes Care and Education
Specialist. She has over 10 years of clinical experience in adult and pediatric endocrinology.
Chelsea joined the Dexcom clinical education team in January 2024.
Chelsea lives with Type 1 Diabetes as do two of her children. Two of her sons were screened
for T1D, and her eldest son was antibody positive at age 3 (having 3 of the 5 T1D
antibodies). Chelsea deeply appreciates opportunities to help empower people impacted by
diabetes. She is an advocate for T1D screening, believing it is important for people to be
informed and make the best decisions for themselves and their families. She firmly believes
that staying informed is a key factor to health.
Jami Klein, BSN, RN, CDCES
Manager, Clinical Education, Dexcom
Jami Klein is a Registered Nurse and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist with
extensive experience in both clinical settings and diabetes industry. She is currently a part
of an incredible team as a Manager in Clinical Education at Dexcom. Her career path
includes clinical roles at Novo Nordisk, Tandem Diabetes, and Cleveland Clinic Pediatric
Endocrinology. Jami is also a dedicated volunteer at Camp Ho Mita Koda in Ohio, the oldest
camp for children with type 1 diabetes, reflecting her deep commitment to the diabetes
community. Her passion for leveraging education and technology to improve lives of those
with diabetes is at the heart of her work.
Living with type 1 diabetes since 1988, Jami has a personal understanding of learning to live
well with diabetes. Jami and husband chose to screen their 2 sons for T1D antibodies a few
months ago after a few years of deliberating. She is passionate about using knowledge as
power to make informed healthcare decisions.
