About the Speakers
Jami Klein, BSN, RN, CDCES
Manager, Clinical Education, Dexcom
Jami Klein is a Registered Nurse and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist with
extensive experience in both clinical settings and diabetes industry. She is currently a part
of an incredible team as a Manager in Clinical Education at Dexcom. Her career path
includes clinical roles at Novo Nordisk, Tandem Diabetes, and Cleveland Clinic Pediatric
Endocrinology. Jami is also a dedicated volunteer at Camp Ho Mita Koda in Ohio, the oldest
camp for children with type 1 diabetes, reflecting her deep commitment to the diabetes
community. Her passion for leveraging education and technology to improve lives of those
with diabetes is at the heart of her work.
Living with type 1 diabetes since 1988, Jami has a personal understanding of learning to live
well with diabetes. Jami and husband chose to screen their 2 sons for T1D antibodies a few
months ago after a few years of deliberating. She is passionate about using knowledge as
power to make informed healthcare decisions.
Donna Rice, MBA, BSN, RN, CDCES, FADCES
Donna Rice is a registered nurse and a Certified Diabetes Care and
Education Specialist. She is a national and international thought
leader, author of four books, and numerous peer-reviewed and consumer
publications. She is a Past President of the Association of Diabetes
Care and Education Specialists and has held numerous positions on
state and national committees related to diabetes care. She has
recently served as the Chief Evangelist for Call-Ai and the Chief
Strategy and Population Health Officer for The Root Cause, working on
developing population-based models of care in high-risk communities.
Prior to The Root Cause, she was a Senior Medical Director for Sanofi,
focused on Integrated Care and Digital Engagement. She was also
appointed the President of the Diabetes Health and Wellness Institute
for Baylor Health Care Systems in Dallas, Texas, in 2008. Donna has
been a board member of DiabetesSisters since 2015 and has served as
Chair from 2018 to 2019.
