Active PODS Meetup Leaders are invited to submit applications to attend the 2016 DiabetesSisters Leadership Institute. The Institute will provide PODS Leaders opportunities to: develop and enhance skills in facilitating conversations about diabetes and related topics; learn about current and emerging diabetes technologies; name diabetes challenges and crowdsource options for coping; craft life narratives about living victoriously with diabetes; and build relationships and teams with PODS Leaders from around the nation.

Participant selection will be based on (1) demonstrated leadership in DiabetesSisters and PODS Meetups; (2) record of dependability and teamwork; (3) demonstrated commitment to and passion for diverse, inclusive, respectful, supportive groups; and (4) locations of PODS Meetups.

Invitation acceptance deadline: Thursday, July 7, 2016, by 12pm Eastern

* Selected participants must accept their invitation and confirm their attendance with DiabetesSisters by 12pm Eastern on July 7, or they will forfeit their invitation and another Leader will be invited to attend in their place. Participants who accept the invitation must provide DiabetesSisters with a valid credit card to cover incidental hotel charges (e.g., room service, in-room movies, etc.). If a PODS Leader accepts the invitation and cancels, does not check in to the Institute, or checks in to the Institute but does not attend the sessions, her credit card will be charged for the cost of her portion of the hotel room, meals, and materials provided ($350). Please understand that there are only 30 spots available at the Leadership Institute. A PODS Leader who accepts her invitation to the Institute but does not attend wastes 2 opportunities – one for herself, and another for a PODS Leader who could have come in her place.
