cardio

Unfortunately I am too big a wimp to be in a triathlon, but I am trying to work out. As I posted in my blog, I have been exceptionally tired lately, but I have forced myself to the gym any way. That along with being more careful about what I eat has made a big difference. All I've done the last two weeks when I go to the gym is cardio. I either get on the elliptical or the treadmill or do some of both, but I don't feel like the walking dead any more. For those of you who have not managed to motivate yourself to workout (which I totally understand) Try to get some in. Besides helping keep your glucose levels under control, it really makes a huge difference in how you feel. Hopefully I will be able to drop some more weight too. I seem to have hit sticking place there. Any way... get up and get moving!!!!

I haven't started going to the gym yet, but I discovered that cutting my grass with my push mower is a GREAT workout. Burns alot of calories in the hour I spend on it. I have 1.5 cleared acres to maintain. So not only do I get a workout from it, I can see that I've accomplished something when I am done.

GREAT JOB LADIES!

Donna, you are definitely not a wimp in any sense of the word! I think that it's fantastic that you're going to the gym again and realizing that just 30 minutes of exercise can give you an extra burst of energy. It seems counterintuitive but it works! More effective than caffeine and much better for you (and this comes from a die-hard coffee lover!)

Seriously though. There are many ways to incorporate more physical activity into our busy lives. Walking furry friends, playing with kids in the neighborhood pool, biking (if you're daring you could bike to work/the store/what have you. With the way gas is these days your bank account will thank you for that one! :) ) You can even park your car far away from the grocery store and get in a couple more steps that way. Whatever you choose to do always be proud of yourself and keep up that positive attitude! Whether you're completing a triathlon or walking in a local charity 5K exercise is good for the mind, body, and soul! Keep up the good work!

I workout every single day, and I love it!

Even if you hate exercise, you can find something you enjoy. Walking w/a friend, taking yoga classes, swimming, skating, whatever. Just do something!

I discovered the rowing machine at the gym. I really like it, but the other day, I rowed for 30 minutes straight then went up to the treadmill for a while. I thought I would die for the rest of the day. I think I need to work up to 30 minutes. Even thought it doesn't seem very hard, it is an all over workout. I also need to get gloves. I ended up with a couple of blisters.
