New to DIabetes Sisters

Hi!

I saw this site in a diabetes magazine and finally got around to checking it out.

I was diagnosed with Type 1 in October of 2010 at the age of 32. I had a visit with a new doctor and she and I were chatting about how I had been feeling lately. She did not like what I was telling her, nor did she like that at the time of my visit I weighed 105 pounds. She decided to run some blood test and 24 hours later I received a frantic call from an endo. At the time of my appointment, my level was 550. When I went in the next day to meet with the endo, my level was around 250 because I had stopped eating carbs the minute I got her call. The nurse checking my blood sugar seemed disappointed. Thanks for the encouragement, Nurse lady.

Anyway, I have gained back the weight I lost due to the uncontrolled diabetes and I have gotten my A1C down to 7.8 and am contemplating transitioning from injections to a pump. I am looking forward to being a part of this great community!
