I'm Adriana, married with 3 kids. I went to the doctor yesterday and pretty much got the news I knew was coming. I am pre-diabetic. I've always had weight problems and my pregnancies were always plagued with high sugars and big babies. My last pregnancy was the most challenging because I was insulin dependant. Because of that I decided to get a tubal ligation. I vowed to never put my body through that again. I am only 35 and I plan on living a really long life.

Hi Adrianna! Welcome to the forum! It sounds like this has been coming on for a while. I know that feeling. I watched my pre-diabetes turn into type 2 this year. Do you have any special concerns or goals for your condition? Are you taking any meds yet or doing any lifestyle measures? Sounds like you are a busy mom too! I am sure you can find some great support here. Keep coming back!

Hi Everyone I am Sukie 1960,
I am a type 2 diabetic.I am a Single Adult with 5 Adult children and grand children . My last A1c was 6.00 at my last Dr visit a month ago. I found one of The Diabetic Sisters Brochures in a hospital waiting room. I was there to support a non Diabetic friend with her non Diabetic aliment .I pick up the brochure to look over when a friendly nurse walks by and asked if I was a diabetic. I said yes then she said she was a member & she put the brochures out for people to see them. She was glad I took one then she suggested I look up the Org. online. I do not remember her name that does not really make a difference. I took her advise and I have joined the DS, I am a newbie here and I do not know what this is all about yet. It is nice to have a place to talk about our shared Disease I tell people all the time I am not sick I have Type 2 Diabetes but they do not get it. I am glad to be here and if anyone wants to share with me how to get the most benefit from the DS org. site they are welcome to do so have a nice day.
