Prediabetic Diagnosis

Hello,

I saw the article in the December 17th issue of the "All You" magazine and decided to visit the diabetessisters.org website. I'm happy I did as I can see there is much here to help me.

I am pre-diabetic and would like to know where to start in becoming healthier. I'm not overweight....in the last few years I've lost 30 pounds without even knowing why but it's been nice to lose it.

I love to walk but need to get back to it.....possibly mallwalking as it's turned very cold here now and I'm no spring chicken. :-)

I know I eat too much sugar and starchy foods....Can someone tell me what I should be eating? I welcome all hints and helps !

Thank you very much and Warm Regards to All,

Hi Mae! We're glad to have you! I encourage you to check out the Foods and Recipes section of this Forum for some helpful eating tips from members. I have also received some VERY helpful suggestions from the Nutrition Tip of the Month column (on this site) and from the Ask our CDE column (on this site). Just look under the green column on the home page for "From the Experts..." You should see both of these helpful sections there. You can also email the CDE Team directly at cde@diabetessisters.org.

Hope that helps!

Hi Brandy,

I thank you for your suggestions and I will look into those areas of the Forum. I downloaded a book to my Kindle and am enjoying reading it. It is about Prediabetis.

Thanks again,

Mae
