I hope this finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy in these stressful, uncertain times. It took me being ordered to Shelter-in-Place for 3+ weeks to find the time to explore resources available to diabetics. And so here I am. I’m so happy I found you!
My name is Mary and I was diagnosed with T2 in October 2015 when I was 57. I work for a large non-profit organization focused on developing tomorrow’s women leaders. I love my job but it is very stressful and I work some pretty long hours. Since being diagnosed, I’ve lost 5 close family members, three of whom were diabetics, and it’s been difficult to be upbeat and positive. It’s taken me a good bit of roller coaster behavior to finally be in a good place mentally and physically so that I can be more focused on turning this around.
I’m joining this group of Sisters in the hopes of providing support to others, while also learning new information along the way. Thank you for this forum. I look forward to meeting you soon!
