I'm diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. I was troubled with blurry vision these days and my mom suggested me for an eye check-up in Toronto. The ophthalmologist diagnosed the eye disease which is called 'diabetic retinopathy'. He told me that having too much glucose (sugar) in my blood can damage the blood vessels in the retina, leading to diabetic retinopathy. Regular eye exams are very important to detect changes early. While going home I was enthusiastic to know more about this eye disorder and started my research to reduce my risk of diabetic retinopathy. I read smoking is also a risk factor for this eye problem. I'm a chain smoker and I can't imagine a day without it. How can I quit smoking within a short period? I started smoking due to my stressful work pressures and tensions. As I'm moving with busy schedules how can I attend programmes which help in quitting smoking? Please share your views and help me.
