What options do I have regarding Insurance?

I thought I would ask here and see what options you ladies may know about. My husband just lost his job and our health insurance ended yesterday. We can get COBRA, but it's $1600 a month just for my husband and I. My 4 kids can get on the state insurance since they don't count assets when you apply. But I am stuck with no insurance. My husband will have a hard time finding a new job, and I have 4 kids, and Associates in Generals and no real way of getting a job with insurance in this town. (I live in one of the most rural places in America and jobs are limited). As a Type 1 diabetic for 23 years I need insurance. I stalked up on pump supplies when he told me he lost his job,(I already had a 3 month supply of strips and insulin) but I'm still afraid of not having insurance. Any ideas or thoughts out there of something that won't break the bank and will give me something for prescriptions and emergencies? I really hate this part of diabetes.

I'm checking, let me do some investigating and get back to you. What do you need right away?

I need necessarily need anything right away. I'm good on all my supplies, I just hate not having insurance. If we have to fork out $1600 a month that will hurt us a lot. There has to be something out there for private insurance that is cheaper. I am going to call around to a few places today. I basically just need prescription coverage and emergency coverage. We're hoping we can find new jobs with insurance benefits shortly.
