Well, I'm no longer pre-diabetic but have it full on. It doesn't scare me or make me depressed ...just a little tiffed that I have to learn something new at my age of 70. A young 70, I might add.

Going back to school at my age, too. Going to classes for new Diabetics locally. First one.....meet one on one with a nurse.....Two to Five - Classes once a week. Then, Six - A meeting with a dietition at the end of all that. LOL

Any encouragement or helpers would be greatily appreciated.

Hugs, Mae

Sounds like you are definitely headed in the right direction. I have been a type 2 for 8 years and I still refer to my Diabetes Education class information and notebook.

Please check our website. You will find some excellent information and resources. Feel free to ask away. If you have specific questions, just ask away. Be sure to check out our event calendar to see if there is a PODS monthly meeting near you. You find that this is an excellent source from personal experiences. Should you need some help finding one near you (hopefully there is on), just email me and I will be glad to help you - joan@diabetessisters.org.

Good luck to you on your new journey. Thanks for reaching out and keep us updated. Welcome to the Sisterhood.
