Wisdom teeth removal?

Hi there,
I have type 2 diabetic and I'm taking insulin to maintain the blood sugar level. I'm concerned about my teeth. My lower 2 wisdom teeth are infected and it's bothering me. So I'm considering wisdom teeth removal from a clinic in Toronto.
I have heard that it's better to take less insulin than usual due to blood loss and anesthesia. Any thoughts?
I haven't undergone any major dental work so I have no idea about the aftercare. Can anyone here explain the wisdom teeth removal recovery tips? Any advice is highly appreciated. Thanks!!

I had one wisdom tooth removed a few years ago with no issues at all. I kept my insulin pump on without changing my basal rate. After the surgery, I just kept a close eye on my blood sugar and adjusted insulin intake accordingly. I imagine the need for more insulin after removal as you will be eating softer foods that may have more carbohydrates like pudding, mashing potatoes, smoothies, etc.
