JANUARY 2015 NEWSLETTER, ISSUE 75                                         Sponsored by  Novo

Greetings! ,

A New Year means a FRESH START, right?!? There's a certain excitement in the air at the beginning of each year. I was so excited that I've already jumped in and cleaned out the closets at my house and my email inbox (both were long overdue!).

This month's newsletter is devoted to helping you get off to a great start and stay on track with your diabetes management in 2015. From the great recipes provided below to the webinar on diabetes organizing hosted by Susan Weiner to the insightful post written by PODS Leader Harmeet Chhabra on navigating the health insurance world to mine and Natalie's newly released book-- there's surely something of interest to everyone in this issue!

Of course, we couldn't start the New Year without first paying proper homage to all of the 2014 accomplishments of our volunteers and staff.  Take a look at the infographic to the right. 2015 is sure to be a great year....so let's buckle in and hang on for a fun ride!

2015 NEW YEAR RESOLUTION
CHECK-IN

Did you set any New Years' Resolutions? Are you looking for some motivation to stay active, engaged, and on plan? Here are a few tips for sticking to your resolutions and having a happy, successful year!
Tips for sticking to your resolutions:

1) Willpower is like a muscle - work it out! By committing to practice willpower (turn down the dessert, for example) for just two weeks, it becomes easier to say NO!

2) Focus on the rewards. If you tell yourself that you hate getting up to go to the gym, you may want to quit. Instead, focus on how good you'll feel when you are stronger than before!

3) Remember to celebrate! At each step towards progress, give yourself a small goal - like a movie marathon night, or new issue of a magazine you've been wanting.
