My family had reason to celebrate this past week. My niece found out that she has been accepted to NCSU School of Design. I’m so proud of her!
Over the weekend my husband and I took our niece and nephews to the Michael Jackson The Immortal Cirque du Soleil. I was disappointed that I didn’t see anyone wearing a red jacket and/or white glove but there were people of all ages...his music continues to touch generations. I remember rushing home from high school to watch the premier of Michael Jackson’s Thriller video on MTV. One of the performers was on crushes with one leg…he was amazing…inspirational. I know he probably has been told a time or two that he couldn’t do something because of his “disability”. Disability I think not…he could do things that most people with two legs can’t do. His message was clear…we have to stare adversity in the face and as the saying goes “Live…Laugh…Love”.
Like Michael Jackson let’s make a difference…Don’t forget to register for the Orange: Will Walk. If you can’t make it to Raleigh for the walk remember you can be a virtual walker and raise funds for DiabetesSisters. We all want DiabetesSisters to grow and continue reaching out to all women of the world. There are awesome prizes for the top 3 fundraisers...visit the DiabetesSisters website for details.
