Hi, My name is Jillian. I am 24yrs old, and have type 1. I was diagnosed when I was 4, so I don't know anything different. I am trying very hard to get things back under control with my Diabetes, but I went through that period in adolescence where I didn't want to be Diabetic anymore, so I really didn't take care of myself. I've only now started working at it because I do want to have kids someday.

I am currently a student at Thomas More College in Northern KY, I'm studying to be a teacher. Right now, school and finding a job are my hobbies. When I have a job or I've graduated(someday) I will go back to making beaded jewelry, reading, painting, and just being artsy.

I am married. I met my husband 11yrs ago at Diabetes Camp. We're both Type 1, but I've struggled with it much more than he has. He tries to be supportive, but he doesn't quite seem to understand sometimes.

I guess what I am hoping for is some support from people who know what I am going through as a woman with Diabetes. Its hard sometimes when you can't talk to someone who doesn't get it.

I have some friends with Diabetes, but most of them are too busy, or single and don't understand my way of thinking about having a family and having Diabetes.
