Hello Ladies

Hi my name is Charu,

I'm 23 and have been a Type 1 Diabetic for close to 15 years. I am still complication free but I'm scared to death of what's to come. More than anything I would like to hear from people who have problems with high HBA1c's. I feel like I often read success stories in Forecast and the ADA magazines, but I never get to read about people (women especially) that are struggling with A1c's that are in the 8's. I think those people exist, and I hope that I'm not alone, but it would be really nice to hear from someone who's there with me, or has figured out how to overcome it.

I was diagnosed when I was 9 and until now have been moving, going through school and college and have never had a stable schedule. I finally have time to really concentrate on my health and would love any advise or support I can get! Hi charuk, and welcome to the Sisters!

What do you think is your biggest barrier to reaching the A1C target that you would like? Do you test frequently? Are your blood sugars erratic (frequent lows/highs)? Are they higher at some times and lower at others? Do you exercise?
There are lots of women here who can address your concerns. Tell us more about yourself!
