My name is Lorena Lopez, I'm a college student and a T1D for 4 years.
I'm a senior at the Carnegie Mellon University, School of Art. Currently my senior thesis project is to create an experience in which someone can feel and see not only the physical, but also psychological implications of living with diabetes I. It involves creating music from blood sugar trends together with a photography work and putting on a performance sometime at the end of the school year. I'm working with a group of Type 1 diabetics (who use both CGMs & Pumps) who want to photograph their day for about a 12 hour period and then let me use their CGM data to make music. What I'm essentially doing is creating two portraits of the same person, one visually and one musically. I'm using majority Dexcom as CGM, because I can export the data to create the music.
I'm going to request some support from the diabetic sisters community. I just need some sisters using CGM who want to help me.I will provide a camera and rolls to document her day, and show you how to export the CGM data.
