New to Site

I was diagnosed as Type 2 July a year ago, at the age of 69. I'm having a hard time learning how to eat right and to motivate myself to exercise. I live alone. I read about Brandy and this site in Diabetes Forecast. I don't know much about computers and/or sites like this. I hope I can learn something.

I am on the right side of the picture, my daughter is on the left (that is, if the picture comes through).

Hi and happy day after Thanksgiving. I just found this site today. I am hoping to learn alot and make new friends. I was diagnosed with diabetes 2 in I think 2006. I have also been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and have arthritis. I am 50 years old now. :)

I'm new to the site also. I was told I was diabetic in 2007. It helps if you go to a diabetic educator. I took and class that lasted one wk-an hr. a day. The educators and fellow classmates really help you learn how to eat and what to watch out for. I started walking, using a pedometer, andtry to walk 10,000 steps a day at least 4 times a week. I'm 62 now and keep my a1c down around 5.5. I take three diabetic meds and also have high blood pressure. Believe me, if you can, walking with a radio or a partner helps.:) :)
