Hi, I was just diagnosed two days ago after having been prediabetic for quite awhile. I was hoping to avoid full-fledged diabetes by losing weight and exercising, but my willpower is weak. I am hoping to gain inspiration and encouragement from others with this illness, and eventually be able to inspire and encourage others. I was so happy to find this site!

Welcome;

You are in the right place. I was diagnosed 9.5 years ago and found this group to be very supportive and informative. Good luck on your journey and if you ever need to talk you can contact me.

Hello Barbara & doggonit! I am new here as well, and I'm really looking for some supportive friends to help me on this horrible journey called Diabetes. I am SO CONFUSED!!! I would love to know what type of general plans you are on to help with your diabetes? I don't know if I'm coming or going. Am I suppose to take my insulin based on what I'm about to eat?? Am I supposed to test it when I eat and take a shot and then 2 hours later, test again?? I'm needing a new doctor very badly! The doctor I currently go to is 2 hours away since we moved recently. I hate going to her because the doctor never sees me. It's always the Nurse Practitioner who always dodges my questions. There are no PODS near where I live, so I am really looking forward to the Virtual PODS meeting coming up soon! I would appreciate any information or suggestions.
