Food is deeply connected to culture, identity, and family, and managing diabetes or weight should not require giving up meaningful cultural foods. This webinar explores how cultural eating patterns can be honored while supporting blood glucose management and overall health. Participants will learn practical, culturally responsive strategies that promote balance, flexibility, and sustainability rather than restriction.

Objectives:

  • Describe how cultural foods and traditions influence diabetes management and weight-related health.
  • Identify practical strategies to adapt portion sizes, preparation methods, and meal balance while preserving cultural meaning and enjoyment.
  • Apply culturally respectful, patient-centered principles to support sustainable diabetes and weight management.
