November 2025 Meetups: What to Expect

“These Meetups have been life-changing for me. For the first time, I felt truly seen — surrounded by women who understand the emotional and physical ups and downs of living with diabetes. I always leave feeling lighter, supported, and more confident in how I care for myself.”

The holidays can be joyful — but they can also bring unique challenges for women living with diabetes. Between the abundance of sweets and social events, disrupted routines, and the pressure to please everyone around you, it’s easy to put your own needs last.

This month’s DiabetesSisters Meetups are designed to help you prepare, plan, and thrive through the holiday season — with support from women who truly understand what it’s like to manage diabetes during this busy time of year.

Each Meetup is led by a volunteer Host who also lives with diabetes, creating a welcoming and judgment-free space where women can connect and share openly. Because these conversations are personal and often deeply meaningful, Meetups are open only to women living with diabetes or prediabetes. This helps ensure a safe, private environment where everyone feels comfortable being honest about their experiences — the highs, the lows, and everything in between.

Each session begins with introductions, giving attendees a chance to share their story and connect on a personal level. From there, your Host will guide the group through an evidence-based, topic-focused module created around the ADCES 7 Self-Care Behaviors® — the nationally recognized framework for diabetes management. These modules are updated annually to reflect the latest guidance in the American Diabetes Association (ADA) Standards of Care, ensuring that every discussion is grounded in the most current, accurate, and relevant information available.

This month, you can expect to:

  • Connect with women who get it. Share your story and hear from others navigating similar holiday stressors.
  • Learn practical strategies for staying on track with blood glucose, meals, and movement — even when your schedule feels unpredictable.
  • Explore self-care and balance, from saying “no” without guilt to creating moments of calm amid the chaos.
  • Swap tips and recipes for holiday favorites that fit your diabetes plan — without missing out on the joy of good food. 🚨 We invite you to bring a favorite diabetes-friendly recipe if you’d like to share!

Each Meetup offers space for honest conversation, emotional support, and practical learning — led by women, for women. You’ll leave feeling supported and ready to approach the season with confidence, grace, and a renewed sense of community.

Make this your healthiest, happiest holiday yet — surrounded by women who understand.
